Last month I listed some of my favorite, mostly general science, podcasts. Here are some more which focus specifically on physics and/or astronomy. This list doesn't include "course lecture recording"-type podcasts, of which there are many: next month I'll try to recommend some of these.

I listen to a lot of podcasts. When I lived in Boston, I had a tortuous commute. Now that I live in suburban London, my commute isn't so bad but I have a lawn to be mowed and a driveway to be shovelled. Here are a few science-related podcasts that I like. These are primarily "professional" podcasts; amateur ones to be covered in some future post.

Need some science to get you through your commute? Download this Planet Earth podcast about the summer's BORTAS campaign which flew out of Halifax. In this podcast Sara Moller talks about the global effects of forest fires.
On a local note, the Purple Crow Lidar has measured smoke particles in the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere (e.g. about 15 km altitude) and been able to show this smoke was associated with forest fire activity a few days earlier in Saskatchewan. This smoke can affect the production of ozone in the stratosphere.
